A low-noise 3-channel field mixer designed for use by professional videographers, the FMX-32 connects easily to the video camera's "MIC" input via the mixer's balanced XLR outputs or its 3.5mm unbalanced stereo output. Each mic input has switchable phantom power (48V DC). Designed for use by the professional videographer, the FMX-32 is a portable (1.96" x 6.69" x 4.33"), all metal, battery operated field mixer that can be attached directly to the camera with supplied hook-and-loop mounting tape.

The FMX-32 has the following features: enhanced circuitry for improved signal-to-noise ratio, 5-step LED array for easy signal monitoring, a 12V DC input for external power, switchable input limiter to reduce the possibility of overload distortion, channel-addressable outputs, a 1/4" monitor headphone jack with level control, 3 balanced XLR mic inputs each with switchable phantom power, 2 channel addressable balanced XLR line-level outputs with level controls, a stereo mini-jack (3.5mm) output, and a POWER On/Off/Low Battery LED indicator.

3 Balanced XLR Inputs With Individual Level Controls

Controls the input level of the microphone connected to each input channel. Zero is the lowest (quietest) setting, 10 is the highest (loudest).

Each mic input has available phantom power (48V DC) with On/Off switch.

Two XLR Outputs, One Mini Jack Output

The FMX-32 features 2 balanced XLR mic/line switchable outputs. Connect a cable from OUTPUT CH A and/or CH B to the mic or line input of your video camera or audio recorder. These outputs accept a standard 3-pin female XLR connector equipped cable.

The UNBALANCE OUTPUT (mini-jack) is designed for video cameras or audio recorders which have mini-jack microphone or line inputs. Because the FMX-32 has low-impedance XLR inputs and a mini-plug output, users of mini DV cameras that have mini-plug microphone inputs can now use high-quality microphones with XLR outputs. The UNBALANCED OUTPUT output is stereo (dual-channel). It is recommended to use a stereo-to-stereo mini cable (not supplied) from the UNBALANCED OUTPUT to the mic or line input of your video camera or audio recorder.

Configurable Output

One microphone can be mixed to both outputs as well as either single output while two microphones can be mixed to either single output or mixed together to both outputs. When mixing 2 mics, you can also output the audio from one microphone to one channel while outputting the audio from both mics to the other channel.

Headphone Output (Stereo or Mono) With Level Control

The FMX-32 has a 1/4" monitor headphone jack with level control. You can connect a stereo or mono headphone to the MONITOR output. A MONITOR control adjusts the volume level of headphones connected to the MONITOR output. A 3-position switch allows you to monitor either the Left or Right channel or both. Normally, your would set the MONITOR selector to position L/R, allowing you to monitor the sound of all connected microphones using either stereo or mono headphones. If you only want to hear the output from the left channel, use stereo headphones and set the switch to position L. Or, if you only want to hear the output from the right channel, use stereo headphones and set the switch to position R.

POWER On/Off/Low Battery LED Indicator

When the POWER switch is turned ON, the POWER LED will turn green to indicate the power is on and the battery is charged. When the battery voltage level is low, the POWER LED will turn red.

Runs on Ordinary AA atteries

The FMX-32 operates for 15 hours on 6 AA batteries (not supplied).

12V DC Input

The FMX-32 can be run on 6 AA battery power or plug an optional AC adapter into the 12 volt input. A 3-position Power switch allows you to select internal (battery) power, external (AC) power or OFF.

Built-in Switchable Input Limiter

The limiter can be switched on to protect against peak distortion due to overload.
