The center column passes through this ball and can both be moved up and down, and be inclined in any direction at any angle up to 15 degrees. Basalt tubes are engineered to match Gitzo performance standards and maintain most of the features of 6X carbon fiber: high thermal and dimensional stability, light weight (20% less than aluminum). Basalt tube uses a 1.2mm thick, 3 crossed layer structure with built-in Anti Leg Rotation (ALR).
