The Gitzo GB1540 4-Section Carbon Fiber Audio Boom has a maximum length of 109.4 inches and supports payloads up to 4.4 pounds. Gitzo booms are designed for performance and reliability to meet location sound and broadcast audio professionals' requirements. Gitzo's new Carbon 6X crossed layer tube makes carbon fiber booms lighter, faster and extremely rigid even when fully extended. With the Anti Leg Rotation system, booms are now quicker to operate and easier and more precise to adjust. Meanwhile, Gitzo's G-Lock system guarantees faster and stronger locking and increases system rigidity by 20%.

Gitzo booms feature a 1/4-inch - 3/8-inch reversible mounting screw supported by a high quality machined aluminum upper end. The microphone cable can be run either outside or inside the pole. The aluminum upper end is specially outfitted with a machined hole for inner cables. All new Carbon 6X GLock booms come with a convenient anti dust bag for storage and packing.

G-Lock

The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. Unwanted play between lock parts has been eliminated so boom sections lock together as one to give the boom a rock solid structure.

Carbon Tube 6X Multilayer Technology

The GB1540 is exceptionally rigid and resistant to torsion, but, thanks to the new Carbon 6X ALR tube, surprisingly light and fast to operate. Gitzo 6X is a high density tube made of top quality ultra thin (7µm) carbon fibers (a 28mm tube contains 1,500,000 carbon fibers). The fibers are combined in a unique structure of 6 crossed layers that minimizes weight yet maximizes rigidity, vibration absorption and performance. In order to optimize the weight-to-strength ratio, Gitzo varies the wall thickness of 6X tube according to series: tubes for series 1 audio booms are 1mm thick.

ALR (Anti Leg Rotation)

Gitzo's new Anti Leg Rotation system means the microphone fishpole can be opened quickly and the height can be easily and precisely adjusted. Simply loosen all the twist locks on the boom at the same time, then pull the boom out and tighten the locks individually.
