The Gitzo GH5750QR Magnesium Off-Center Ball Head replaces the classic Gitzo G1576M head in a completely revisited version. The Gitzo GH5750QR head may look like its predecessor, with the same look and design of the high quality magnesium shell, but the internal components and mechanisms are completely re-engineered. The weight has been reduced by 15-17% and state-of-the-art Gitzo technologies have been introduced. The GH5750QR supports cameras up to 26.5 pounds. This translates to a 66-pound payload measured according to Gitzo's competitors' standard, directly on the head attachment screw. This method leads to a maximum payload 2.5 times higher than Gitzo standard that is more severe and uses a 4.7-inch lever to simulate equipment center of gravity.

The ball is now treated with PTFE in order to achieve a greater smoothness and precision. The knobs have a different design that improves ergonomics, allows for a better operation, and contributes to the weight reduction. The true innovation is the locking mechanisms. The panoramic lock has been developed with a new concept and it is now three times stronger than before. This is a terrific advantage when the head is used with lateral arms or with explorer tripods. SADL (Spring Assisted Double Lock)

The new center SADL (Spring Assisted Double Lock) is a patent pending system that combines two locking systems in one, that maximizes both locking power and ball smoothness. A high-friction metal guarantees a high efficiency lock, while the PTFE bushing controlled by a pre-loaded spring maximizes smoothness and control.

PTFE Low Friction Treatment Eliminates Jarring and Skipping

PTFE is a special treatment that generates a unique ultra-smooth surface and dramatically reduces friction between moving parts. This treatment bonds strongly with metal surfaces and ensures long-lasting performance. PTFE is one of the lowest-friction materials known to science, with the same friction coefficient as melting ice.

Double Quick Release Safety System
