Replacing the G1564L monopod, the Gitzo GM3350XL Aluminum Alloy Monopod supports cameras up to 39.7 pounds and has a maximum height of 73.2 inches. Its five leg sections allows it to break down to a minimum length of just 20.7 inches for traveling. Gitzo Aluminum monopods have been completely revised and now feature many of the same features as Gitzo's top-of-the-line 6X carbon fiber monopods, offering lighter, faster and more stable support. One improvement is the high quality Power Disc, offering a more secure locking of the head thanks to an additional locking screw. Removable rubber feet are now self-locking to avoid accidental loss.

All aluminum monopods now feature Gitzo's latest 1.2mm wall thickness aluminum tube, 30% lighter than its predecessor. The brushed matt black finish provides minimized reflectivity. Thanks to Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR) and G-Lock, the redesigned monopods are now incredibly fast to operate, delivering improved locking performance and a 20% increase in rigidity. Aluminum Alloy Construction

Gitzo has launched a new aluminum tube: 30% lighter than its predecessor, with 1.2 mm thick walls and a built-in Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR). It features improved leg locking performance and a brushed matte black finish that minimizes light reflection. For the cast components, Gitzo uses top quality aluminum alloys and gravity casting -- more expensive than pressure casting, but able to guarantee that components are free from internal air bubbles that could compromise solidity and durability.

G-Lock

G-Lock is the new Gitzo leg locking system. The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. Unwanted play between lock parts has been eliminated so leg sections lock together as one to give the monopod a rock solid structure. G-Lock's special design also provides a 'gravity lock' effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.

Power Disc With Safe Lock

The redesigned upper disc is improved via Gitzo's new Power Disc technology. Made of machined aluminum topped with Safe Lock material, it includes an extra locking screw, granting a rock-solid connection of the whole system. Gitzo's Safe Lock material is a special techno polymer that maximizes locking torque and equipment stabilization. It is used on the upper discs of tripods and heads, and in applications where the equipment is rotated and screwed onto the support to eliminate micro movements and vibration.

ALR (Anti Leg Rotation)

Gitzo's new Anti Leg Rotation system means the monopod can be opened quickly and the height can be easily and precisely adjusted. Simply loosen all the twist locks on the leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.

Removable Rubber Foot

The Gitzo GM3350XL monopod is provided with a removable rubber foot. This feature allows you to easily change a worn out rubber foot or to fit other accessories, such as a spiked foot or snow/sand shoe. Removable rubber feet are now self-locking to avoid accidental loss.
