KATA Camera Backpacks, Waist Packs and Sling Carriers
The KATA Grizzly-3 is a large camera backpack which can also be used as a daily camera case. Thanks to KATA's Modi-Vers system, this unique design fits a large range of cameras from compact cameras with many accessories to full size professional cameras with battery and lens installed. The thickly-padded main compartment opens horizontally for easy access to camera and accessories, even when the case is on your back. Five pockets provide various storage options while also protecting your equipment by separating it from your personal effects. Grizzly-3 presents four carrying options: on your back using the Advanced harness system, on your shoulder or across your chest using shoulder strap (not included), by hand using the interlocking handle, or wheeled with the optional Insertrolley System.
Thermo Shield Technology (TST) combined with reinforced plastic boards and thick closed cell padding create the lightwieght, ultra-protective KATA BP-502 backpack. The BP-502 was specially designed to fit and give separate quick draw to camcorders like the Canon XL-2/XL-1s and downwards through the Sony PD-170, the Panasonic DVX100A and similar models with laptop, many accessories and personal effects. Carrying options include: the included Insertrolley, an advanced adjustable and ergonomically designed harness system, which can be concealed, and the injected grip handle.
KATA's HB-207 Hiker Backpack features a level of protection you haven't seen before. KATA's Thermo Shield Technology (TST) protection safeguards the camera compartment and the bottom of the case while keeping it light. The extensive main compartment easily accommodates a variety of DV camcorders such as the Sony HVR-Z1, Panasonic DVX100A or JVC GY-DV300. For photographers, the main compartment easily accommodates 2-3 SLR bodies together with up to 8 lenses (up to 400 mm f 2.8). A rear compartment will hold up to a 17-inch laptop. A separately accessed top compartment will hold a still camera with lens installed for quick removal, or a variety of accessories. A large rear laptop compartment, two soft TST open pockets for water bottles or a small tripod, and an assortment of pockets all work together to provide the ultimate carrying and protecting solution for outdoor photographers. The HB-207's advanced harness system is designed for complete adjustment of all components: shoulder straps, 6-point adjustable waist belt and lumbar pad, ensuring the perfect ergonomic fit for each individual carrier. When not in use, the harness can be neatly folded out of the way for easy storage or to allow for the addition of the included KATA Insertrolley.
The KATA HB-205 Hiker Backpack is somewhat more compact than KATA's HB-207 Hiker Backpack, and lacks the rear laptop compartment, included Insertrolley and separately accessed top compartment of its larger cousin. KATA's Thermo Shield Technology (TST) protection and Double Sided Elements Cover safeguard the camera compartment. The extensive main compartment easily accommodates a variety of DV camcorders up to the Sony HDR-FX1, Panasonic DVX100A or similar. For photographers, the main compartment easily accommodates 2-3 SLR bodies together with up to 8 lenses. Two soft TST open pockets for water bottles or a small tripod, and an assortment of pockets all work together to provide the ultimate carrying and protecting solution for outdoor photographers.
The compact KATA R-103 Rucksack is designed to hold DV camcorders such as the Canon GL-2, Sony PD-170, Panasonic DVX100A and JVC GY-DV300. Additional accessories, tapes, batteries, filters, charger, cables and personal essentials can be stored in the spacious arched lid compartment, the two outside pockets and the central mesh/vinyl pocket, while a rear compartment will hold a laptop up to 15 inches. The special design gives quick, separate access to the camcorder or camera in the central compartment, while the rest of the equipment surrounding it remains secure. The R-103's ergonomic harness includes a unique cushioning and shock absorbing system, which allows for optimal ventilation, weight distribution and 5-point adjustment mechanism.
The compact KATA R-102 Rucksack is a slightly smaller version of the KATA R-103 Rucksack without the rear laptop compartment. In all other ways its features and capacities are virtually identical to the R-103. The R-102 includes a well-padded dividing set, which allows you to organize it to fit your requirements. If needed, extra Modi-Vers-Kit is available. In addition, the R-102 includes a TST tripod holder with its connecting V shape device and an upper adjustable strap (the tripod can be carried on the central part of the Rucksack or on one of the sides).
The compact KATA R-101 Rucksack is designed to hold a medium or small digital SLR body with up to 200mm lens attached, two to four additional lenses and accessories, or a mini DV camcorder with accessories. Additional accessories, tapes, batteries, filters, charger, cables and personal essentials can be stored in the spacious arched lid compartment, the two outside pockets and the central mesh/vinyl pocket. The rear padded compartment will hold a small laptop (up to 12-inch) or additional accessories. A five-point adjustment mechanism and specially designed Camera Straps will take the camera load off your neck (they can be turned into a regular camera strap by connecting to the provided extender). A detachable hip belt can be connected to the bottom back loops that are designated to attach the R-101 to KATA's EPH system.
The KATA Digital Rucksack DR-467 Camera Backpack features unique TST Rib structural protection and is designed to hold and organize your Digital SLR with a mounted lens, 3-4 additional lenses, flash units and other accessories, plus your personal gear. The main compartment holds a Digital SLR in top grip position while the modular divider system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flash units and other accessories. Remove this insert when not shooting and the rucksack easily converts to an everyday pack. The DR-467 features a large protective laptop compartment for working on the go. The large top compartment will hold personal gear or additional equipment and accessories. When carrying, a chest belt and balancing waist strap are available for comfort. The rucksack is also compatible with the Kata Insertrolley if wheel-along transportation is needed.
The KATA Digital Rucksack DR-465 Camera Backpack is a slightly smaller version of the DR-467 without the laptop comparment. Carry the DR-465 comfortably and securely by the sturdy padded grip handle. When carrying on your back, the harness system features a chest strap and non-tilt waist belt for added comfort. The simple yet ingenious Insertrolley System is an available option for the DR-465.
The RL-302 Laptop Rucksack is designed for professionals and executives on the go. The backpack will organize, store and protect all your equipment as well as your traveling gear. Specifically designed features include a quick-access pocket for wallet and passport, and a zip-up mesh water bottle pouch. The harness system will ensure ultimate weight distribution, and when not in use will fold out of the way. The KATA Insertrolley is an available option for easy roll-along transportation. Large front and rear padded compartments with organizer panels will hold folders, paperwork, laptop accessories and much more. Numerous designated pockets throughout will hold all your personal effects such as a mobile phone, PDA, MP3 player and more. A padded laptop shoulder bag is integrated in the TST protected midsection of the rucksack allowing for immediate removal when necessary (for instance airport security checks). This bag can be used as an independent laptop case.
The KATA Sensitivity V Camera Backpack is a camera daypack that can carry and protect a laptop, a digital camera or SLR with accessories, plus an MP3/MP4 player, a PDA and a cellphone. The main compartment is divided into two flexible compartments by a zippered divider, which can be removed to create one large space. Two U-shaped front flaps provide separate access to the top and bottom compartments, and each functions as a flexible pocket in its own right. The top section includes an internal organizer panel for personal effects, a detachable elongated zip pouch and a small roaming media pocket. The lower section features Elasto-Guard sleeves to secure and protect delicate equipment. These sleeves can simply be folded away when not in use. Flexi-Shield reinforcement runs along the sides. In the rear of the Sensitivity V, a large safe guard laptop compartment holds laptops up to 15 inches.
The KATA Prism U is a camera daypack that can carry and protect a laptop, a digital camera or SLR with accessories, plus an MP3/MP4 player, a PDA and a cellphone. The main compartment is divided into two flexible compartments by a zippered divider, which can be removed to create one large space. Front zippered flaps with Flexi-Shield reinforcement offer quick access to the two main compartments. In the rear of the Prism U, a large safe guard laptop compartment holds laptops up to 15 inches. Two low profile high capacity side pockets will hold water bottles, etc. Double layered second zip pockets are concealed under each. Two media pouches are integrated into the shoulder straps for quick access of phone or MP3/MP4 player.
The KATA W-94 Waist Pack incorporates TST protection and is designed for all digital SLR camera systems and mini DV camcorder kits. A professional digital SLR with two to four lenses and additional gear like a flash unit, lens hood, charger, power supply, and more will fit inside this roomy pack. The W-94's main compartment can be custom-arranged to precisely fit your gear via the included divider system (if necessary extra Modi-Vers Kits are available). Two padded expandable pull-cord pouches on either side accommodate lenses, water bottle or other items you would like to have close at hand. Additional pockets in the lid, front and sides of the W-94 will store plenty of accessories. Full protection on the main zipper and KATA's unique cover makes sure your sensitive equipment is well protected from the elements.
The innovative KATA W-92 Waist Pack incorporates TST protection and is designed to fit small DV camcorders up to the Canon GL-2. It is comfortably shaped to fit numerous operating scenarios: Frontal carrying for quick access while opening the cover away from your body; Rear carrying for best weight distribution; Carried by the thermo-rubber handle; Carrying as a shoulder bag with the SPAD strap hooked to the two D-rings (the waist belt can be tucked away or buckled for extra stability).
The Kata T-214 Torso Pack is the large version of the T-212 Torso Pack below. The T-214 enables frontal carrying and quick drawing without the weight of your equipment on your neck. Torso Packs are the central element of KATA's EPH System. They can be used on their own or attached to the W-92 Waist Pack as well as one of the backpacks. The T-214 fits up to a large Digital SLR with lens attached. The unique design allows you to carry the bag up front or on your back, and change the position even while on the go. Additional external pockets will hold your personal effects.
The Kata T-212 Torso Pack is uniquely designed to keep your camcorder or digital camera in quick-draw position, while TST protected. The T-212 enables frontal carrying without the weight of your equipment on your neck. The shape of the expandable main compartment adjusts to fit your gear and can be divided into two sections. Additional pockets will store all necessary accessories. The T-212 is the central element of Kata's EPH (Ergonomic Photo) System. It can be used on its own, with its weight-distributing mesh back-piece. Or remove the back-piece and attach the T-212 to the W-92 Waist Pack or to one of the backpacks.

The H-10 features a double closure system: a two-slider zipper and a one-hand operating buckle. A zippered opening accesses the flexible main compartment which can hold a digital camera plus an MP3 / MP4 player, a PDA, a cell phone and accessories. Flexi-Shield reinforcement runs along the bottom and sides of the sling. Underneath the front flap is a large zippered pocket and two flexible pouches. A small zippered side pocket will store a variety of personal effects. A flat rear pocket is ideal for valuables, a passport, etc. Two quick access pouches are integrated into the inner side of the shoulder strap. The KATA Format Q Waist Pack features top zippered access to a spacious main compartment that can hold a digital camera or SLR plus plenty of gear. The main compartment can be customized via a flexible divider loop. Additional storage for accessories and personal effects is available inside internal flat flap pockets plus two flexible side zippered pockets that adjust snugly to the carrier's body. The Kata S-312 Camera Sling incorporates TST protection and is ergonomically designed to carry a small digital camera or pocket camcorder. The unique diagonal configuration offers an alternative to traditional carrying methods and fits sizes S to XL. Your camera can be placed in either of the two central pockets. A concealed compartment holds valuables close to your body. Other ergonomically designed pockets will hold cell-phone, PDA, pen, media cards, spare batteries, keys and more.
The KATA Shutter M Snug Holster is designed to carry and protect a digital camera or SLR plus an MP3/MP4 player, a cell phone and accessories. The main compartment is easily accessed from the top zipper and designed to conform to the shape of the camera inside. It features Flexi-Shield reinforcement on the bottom for extra lens protection. An external flexible front pocket adjusts to store a variety of accessories or personal effects. Two small, easy-access side pockets will hold spare batteries and media cards.
The KATA Reflex C Camera Strap is made of the flexible Elasto-Guard material to provide a well padded, optimal weight balanced anchor for carrying your camera. Two small zip pouches, one on each end, will store backup media cards or batteries. The padded strip is connected to the side straps with quick release buckles to enable multiple carrying options.
