The Manfrotto 055XWNB Wilderness Tripod replaces Manfrotto's 3221WN Wilderness Tripod. Built on the same design as the 055XB, the ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks have been greatly improved. Lightweight sturdy and portable, this two-stage (three-section) aluminum tripod is one of Manfrotto's easiest tripod to operate. The 055XWNB Wilderness Tripod features four position legs spread, a long center column for extra adjustment, two foam rubber leg grips, new quick action lever locks, and retractable rubber feet with steel spikes.

Four pre-set independent leg angles -- 23°, 45°, 65° and 88° -- give the tripod great positioning flexibility and versatility, and allow all intermediate heights from the stated minimum to maximum levels to be reached. Each of the legs can be set to a different angle of spread for more flexible, versatile positioning and to help keep camera equipment well-balanced over the tripod's center of gravity.
