The Manfrotto 058B replaces the popular 3251 and 3051 Triaut Studio Pro Tripods. The Manfrotto Studio Pro Tripod range has been specifically designed to hold shooting equipment that is bulky and heavy such as SLRs equipped with long tele lenses, and medium format or large format cameras. The 058B Triaut is one of the most exciting tripods in the Manfrotto range, featuring patented simultaneous release of all three legs or any individual leg. This permits the legs to be extended, the tripod leveled (a spirit level is provided) and locked in seconds without 'fiddling' with individual leg adjustments. Telescoping of the legs is also achieved by activating the same release.

Geared column mechanism

To provide the accuracy and capability needed to support and put into position cameras weighing up to 26.5 pounds, the tripod has a center column made of an anti-rollback three-faceted tube controlled by a self-locking gear mechanism; legs made of a combination of extruded and electric welded aluminum tubes; a reinforced die casting aluminum top spider; and an adjustable mid-level spreader system.

Other important features of this tripod are the ability to adjust all angles individually and secure them with Manfrotto telescopic struts. The Triaut tripod is the favored professional tripod for medium format up to 5 x 4". Rubber feet with retractable spiked feet are standard. Includes a carrying strap.

Mid Level Spreader Allows Each Leg Angle to be Independently Set

The built-in mid-level spreader adds anti-torsional rigidity and stops the tripod legs from accidentally being knocked wider apart. Compared to a ground-level spreader or dolly, the mid-level spreader has the advantage that it stays well out of the mud and dirt and is more suitable for use on uneven terrain. Each of the legs can be set to a different angle of spread for more flexible, versatile positioning and to help keep camera equipment well-balanced over the tripod's center of gravity.

Patented Triaut Simultaneous Or Individual Leg Release System

The Triaut mechanism is the precursor of the Neotec and has three red levers under the tripod shoulder that release all leg locks (on all three legs simultaneously or on an individual leg), allowing the tripod to be opened, repositioned, levelled or closed in seconds without fiddling with individual adjustments. As soon as you let go of the levers, the legs lock in place.
