Replacing the 482 Micro Ball, the Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head is compact, lightweight, and perfect for compact 35mm and point-and-shooot digital cameras. It has a single smart ratchet locking knob for 360-degree pan and plus/minus 90-degree tilt movements. Camera attachment is via a fixed platform with 1/4-inch male thread. Head to tripod attachment is 3/8-inch female. The 492 features an all-aluminum construction with a black finish.

Smart Ratchet Locking Knob For 360-Degree Pan and Plus/Minus 90-Degree Tilt

A smart ratcheting locking lever allows the user to place it in a comfortable position in order to use it in the most convenient way. Just pull it outwards, put it in the best working position, and then release it. This makes working with the head easier and quicker. The locking lever securely locks the head both in the +90 degrees and -90 degrees ball positions and in the 360 degrees pan movements.
