Replacing the 488 midi ball, the Manfrotto 498 Midi Ball Head, with its solid aluminum construction, is the ideal support for all traditional or digital small or medium format cameras. It has a new friction control knob plus separate fast action smart ratchet locking knobs for 360-degree pan and the plus/minus 90-degree tilt movements. You can position your camera anywhere in a 180-degree sphere with confidence and ease. Camera attachment is via a 2.36-inch (60mm) fixed platform with 1/4-inch male thread. Head to tripod attachment is 3/8-inch female.
