The 701RC2,055XV is a complete kit consisting of the Manfrotto 055XV Aluminum View Tripod and the 701RC2 Mini Video Head. Designed for everyone from the bird watching enthusiast to the professional nature photographer, Manfrotto's VIEW series of tripod kits are designed to withstand the most extreme environments and provide years of trouble-free support. They are lightweight, rugged, compact and portable, making them ideal to carry into the most remote places on earth. Similar to the 701RC2,055MFV kit, this aluminum model provides the same outstanding performance at a slightly higher overall weight, but lower price.

The 055XV Aluminum View Tripod features stainless steel fixings, foam rubber padding to protect the user's hands in cold weather and quick-action leg locks. Small and lightweight, the 701RC2 fluid video head is capable of accommodating a payload of up to 8.8 pounds, and is ideal for set-ups such as a fully-equipped 3 CCD mini DV camcorder or a spotting scope combined with a digital still or video camera for digiscoping purposes.

The 055XV Tripod replaces Manfrotto's 055V Aluminum View Tripod. Lightweight, sturdy and portable, the Manfrotto 055XV View Tripod was built on the same ergonomically improved design as the 055XB. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks have been greatly improved. The Manfrotto 055XV Aluminum View Tripod offers aluminum legs with four different leg angle options to achieve lower heights. Foam rubber padding protects your hands against the heat and cold and quick-action leg locks quickly and quietly set the tripod into position. The 055XV features stainless steel fixings and has a painted dark green non-glare finish.

Four Different Leg Angle Pre-sets

Four pre-set independent leg angles -- 23°, 45°, 65° and 88° -- give the tripod great positioning flexibility and versatility, and allow all intermediate heights from the stated minimum to maximum levels to be reached. Stability is assured at all four angles by the spring-loaded step mechanism. Each of the legs can be set to a different angle of spread for more flexible, versatile positioning and to help keep camera equipment well-balanced over the tripod's center of gravity. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism has been greatly improved.

Fluid drag on the 701RC2 is fixed and provides smooth control through 360º pan and +90º to -60º tilt.

Quick-Release Sliding Plate With VHS Pin

The 701RC2 is equipped with a fixed 3.3 lb counterbalance spring and a sliding plate which can shift from +15mm to -15mm to deliver a wide range of balancing positions. The sliding quick-release video plate system is based on the 200PL-14 equipped with the usual VHS pin.
