National Geographic NGTT1 Tundra Tripod
Features in Detail | Enlarged Image
National Geographic's pioneering use of photography is a vital element in the success of its mission to increase knowledge of our world. Long recognized as a source of the most iconic and important images ever captured, National Geographic explores and records extreme environments and distant cultures. It also keeps a sharp eye trained close to home, documenting the unexpected sides of more familiar natural and human landscapes. Now National Geographic has teamed up with Manfrotto, leading producer of professional tripods and camera accessories with decades of experience, to bring you the tools that top explorers and reporters trust to help them bring home the best images possible.
Whether you're photographing around the world or around the corner, a sturdy, well-built tripod or monopod will help you get the best images by holding your camera still. By supporting its weight, it allows you to use faster, finer-grained film or silent digital settings which let you concentrate on framing while giving you room for artistic expression. The National Geographic Tundra support range, developed for the passionate amateur imagemaker, has been designed to combine low weight and reduced size with professional performance, top build quality, versatile advanced features and speedier deployment systems.
The National Geographic NGTT1 Tundra Tripod With Ball Head offers the height you need, but folds up to a compact size making this an ideal tripod for traveling or trekking. The ball head positions easily to capture the most extreme angles, and with the small quick release plate, you can easily remove your camera for quick storage. The special two-section column and variable leg angles provide the flexibility needed to obtain low angle photography.
National Geographic NGTT1 Tundra Tripod Key Features

Versatile ball head with small quick release plate |
- Built-in Ball Head
- The NGTT1 incorporates a sturdy ball head with +90° / -90° portrait orientation grooves. An easy-to-grab knob quickly locks and unlocks the head.
- Compact Quick Release Plate
- A small profile plate designed to fit all compact digital cameras allows the camera to be quickly attached and detached from the tripod. It's easy to access yet provides the safety required to prevent the accidental release of the camera from the tripod. To fix the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera, a special tool is located in the bottom of the column. Simply unscrew the tool from the column and then replace it when done.
- Anti-Torsion "D" Profile Tubing
- A natural anti-rotation shape ensures the legs don't turn. The elliptical shape also provides greater rigidity at the critical point where the legs attach to the tripod.
- Three Set Leg Angles
- Quick and easy to open and close, the NG Tundra Tripod allows quick positioning of the camera in virtually any position. Turn the dial to select normal leg angles (23 degrees), medium leg angles (45 degrees), or low-angle (80 degrees) to achieve ground level shots.
- Five-Section Legs
- Five section tripod legs permit a folded length just under 18" making the NGTT1 ideal for fitting into luggage. Once on location, the NG Tundra extends to 60" with the center column extended.
- Adjustable Center Column Removes For Low Angle Positioning
- Hidden away between the tripod legs, but eay to find, the lever quickly locks and unlocks the column to obtain higher camera positioning or to remove the column for low angle positioning. The column unscrews and splits into two sections. In combination with the 80-degree low angle leg setting you can get your camera all the way to the ground.
- Large Rubber Feet
- Large rubber feet provide stability on flat and uneven surfaces.
