Canon Camcorder Feature Explanations:
- 1 - SD/SDHC Memory Card Slot
- Get ready for a revolution in home movies with Canon's new flash memory camcorders. Lightweight, stylish and small enough to slip into a pocket, recording to flash memory means that you can shoot for longer without running out of power. And thanks to flash, operating the camcorders is quick and quiet, plus your footage stays safe. All Canon Flash Memory Camcorders record to SD or SDHC memory cards, for ultra-easy sharing and uploading to a computer. Capture video and photos straight to memory card to store precious moments, then easily share them with friends and family. Since all Canon Flash Memory camcorders have an SDHC memory card slot, greater capacity can be added in the future by purchasing additional cards. Furthermore, an SDHC memory card can be easily inserted into a computer's memory card reader or an HDTV's card slot for instant viewing.
- 2 - Internal Flash Drive
- If you need more storage space, the FS11 and FS10 camcorders offer a great Dual Flash Memory combination. The FS11's 16GB internal memory gives you the power to capture over 10 hours of video without the need for spare discs, tapes or memory cards -- perfect when you're on vacation. The FS10 has 8GB internal memory on which to capture over 5 hours of video. Alternatively, capture straight to memory card to store precious moments, then easily share them with friends and family -- even transfer movies and stills from cards to the internal memory, to keep a record of what you're sharing.
- 3 - Megapixel CCD
- True color and the finest detail are found in every shot processed by Canon's Megapixel CCD. The CCD works like film -- when light hits it, it registers an image; advanced processing then converts the pixels into digital data creating your video or stills. So whether you are right next to your subject or 500 feet away, you get crisp images with life-like detail that you can view on your computer or TV, or even make a print for your whole family.
- 4 - DIGIC DV II Image Processor
- DIGIC DV II is the next generation of Canon's exclusive DIGIC DV signal processing technology. Even though video and still images have different color requirements, DIGIC DV II digital signal processing ensures optimal image quality for both video and still images. Using DIGIC DV II image processing, the DC series of camcorders produce video with improved color reproduction -- especially in skin tones, and dark and light scenes. It also uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction for images and video that is crystal clear.
- 5 - High-Resolution Wide-Screen Video
- Typically reserved for more expensive camcorder models, you can record high-resolution video in 16:9 format for playback on wide-screen TVs. Unlike systems that record a vertically stretched picture, the camcorder uses the full width of the CCD, resulting in a wide-screen picture that has higher quality and shows more of the action happening at either end of the screen.
- 6 - 37x Optical Zoom
- Canon Flash Memory camcorders offer you more flexibility to get just the shot you need by giving you the choice of Canon 48x Advanced Zoom in default mode or you can select 37x Optical Zoom or 2000x Digital Zoom. You will always be able to get the shot you need, no matter how close or far away, and always with the quality you expect from Canon. And with Canon's unique super spectra coating, which reduces flare and ghosting, the image you capture will be cleaner than ever.
- 7 - 48x Advanced Zoom
- Canon Flash Memory camcorders all feature a new Canon technology known as Advanced Zoom which enhances the zoom capability of each model to a powerful 48x, while maintaining stunning image quality. Canon's exclusive Advanced Zoom system combines Genuine Canon Optics with Canon's proprietary DIGIC DV Image Processor to achieve expanded wide angle and telephoto zoom, while retaining superb optical quality throughout the entire zoom range.
- 8 - Digital Zoom
- The digital zoom kicks in at the end of the optical zoom range, and is capable of extending to a maximum of 2000x. The Canon digital zoom provides sharper detail than others thanks to Canon's superior lens quality. You'll reveal details too distant to be seen with the eye alone.
- 9 - Image Stabilizer
- A high quality image stabilization system corrects camera shake instantly, giving you smooth stable pictures. It enables you to record shake-free images, even when shooting hand-held at full telephoto.
- 10 - Dolby Digital 2 Channel Audio
- Dolby Digital 2 Channel Audio ensures your audio quality is as good as your image quality.
- 11 - Widescreen 2.7-inch LCD Screen
- The big view screen makes it easier to compose sensational shots from any angle. It swivels and flips for maximum handling comfort and flexibility. It also tucks neatly away when shooting conditions make the eyecup viewfinder the preferred way to shoot. The LCD of your Canon DVD Camcorder displays the image in a 'letterbox' view -- from side to side and top to bottom, what you see will be what you get. No guessing and extra work when looking at an image that's distorted like a fun house mirror. Not only that, but the camcorder's big, 2.7-inch LCD screen lets you see exactly what you're recording.
- 12 - Program Auto Exposure With Special Scene Modes
- Auto mode automatically sets the exposure, letting you concentrate on your subject. A wide selection of automatic exposure modes makes it easy to capture great photos -- and video -- under any conditions. Portrait mode ensures shallow depth of field for a pleasing background to your shots of friends and family. Sports mode stops the action with faster shutter speeds. Night mode is designed to give you great shots after the sun goes down. Snow and Beach modes compensate for bright surroundings and give you the proper exposure on your subject. Sunset mode results in vibrant, well-exposed colors for one of the toughest subjects to capture. Use Spotlight mode when your child is on stage and in the spotlight -- literally -- and you want to make sure the exposure is right for them. And, Fireworks mode records brilliant images of another tough subject: the holiday fireworks display.
- 13 - 9 Point AiAF (Auto Intelligent Autofocus)
- Auto Intelligent Auto Focus ensures sharp images and gives creative flexibility. Even when your subject isn't in the center of the frame, Canon DVD camcorders' AiAF will bring it into sharp focus
- 14 - PictBridge Compatible
- When you're ready to print your digital images, a single cable is all that's required to connect your camcorder to any PictBridge-compliant printer. You can then control a variety of printing options from the camcorder's menu. Choose from a range of different paper sizes with options for borderless or bordered prints.
- 15 - Level and Grid Markers
- Level, well-composed shots are simple with the Level and Grid Marker features. Line up the horizon or other horizontal lines with the Level Marker in the viewfinder for level landscapes. Or, use the Grid Marker to help compose the perfect shot. Both markers can be set to white or grey for enhanced visibility, no matter what the background.
- 16 - USB 2.0 High Speed
- USB 2.0 Hi-Speed provides a direct connection to computers for fast transfer of video and still images.
- 17 - Wireless Remote Control Included
- Wireless Remote Control lets you operate your camcorder from a distance, so you don't have to be left out of the picture.
- 18 - Built-in LED Video Light
- These Canon camcorders feature a Built-in Video Light to conveniently expand your ability to shoot in low light. The light lets you capture well-detailed color images in low light at distances up to nearly 5 feet.
