Designed as a companion product to Canon's LV-7245, LV-7240, and LV-X5 Multimedia Projectors but also intended as a stand-alone unit, Canon's new RE-455X Visualizer is an XGA resolution document camera built to meet the needs of schools, universities, courtrooms, or any other environment requiring image capture of paper-based documents or 3-D objects. Key features of the RE-455X Visualizer include One-Shot Autofocus, which focuses the lens with one touch of a button-a very useful feature when frequently changing items beneath the Visualizer's camera.

Included in the RE-455X is a 12x Power Zoom Lens with Superior Canon Optics for crisp, detailed image capture, adjustable twin fluorescent lamps for uniform lighting, convenient front-panel controls, auto and manual exposure and white balance, and a White Paper mode to optimize the quality of text documents. Additional features include a VGA input and output for connecting to a computer monitor or a projector and S-Video and composite video outputs for easy connection to a Canon Multimedia Projector or to a VCR, DVD player, or a TV. The RE-455X Visualizer offers an RS-232C terminal for connecting to control systems, and a foldable design making it easy to carry.

Powerful 12X Zoom

This visualizer features a genuine high-quality Canon 12X zoom lens composed of 10 elements in 8 groups, with a maximum F1.8 aperture to produce vivid images at all magnifications. A fast, precise auto focusing system guarantees sharp results every time. The RE-455X's 12X zoom lens lets you display objects or images as small as 1.2" x .9" (31.5mm x 23.7mm), as well as objects or images as large as 12.1" x 9" (306mm x 230mm).

One-Touch Auto-Focus

Get instant focus for A4 originals at the touch of a button. This is especially useful when changing subjects frequently.

Convenient Image Switching

You can even connect your PC to your RE-455X, then switch between the RGB input from your computer and the image from your RE-455X at the touch of a button for a single, seamless presentation. Canon's Image Switchover function enables you to alternate between image sources easily, as often as required.

Still Image Mode

Don't miss a beat during your next presentation -- thanks to the RE-455X. With the press of a button, a high-quality still image can be temporarily stored in memory, and then displayed on a projector or monitor. Freeze a specified image for extended examination by the audience. The still image remains on the display until a button is pressed. You even get 15 frames/second capture for smooth XGA motion images.

Fully Automatic Image Display

Obtain optimum image quality without any complex manual adjustments. Auto Focus, Auto Exposure and Auto White Balance are all fully automatic and independently controlled. Manual Focus mode is also available.

One-Shot Auto-Focus

One-shot AF mode is an enhanced AF mode designed for use with many 3-D objects of varying sizes.

System Integration

The RE-455X is equipped with separate terminals for XGA output and video output, which allows connection to monitors, projectors, and other display devices. You can also connect other input devices to the RE-455X via its RS-232C and RGB input terminals.
