The EX-25 increases the distance from the lens to the sensor by 25mm, thus permitting a shorter closest focusing distance than is normally possible with any given lens. With the Zuiko Digital ED 50mm f 2.0 macro lens this extension tube gives a magnification of 1:1, giving the equivalent area coverage as a 2:1 macro lens on a 35mm film camera.
