Panasonic Digital Voice Recorders Feature Explanations:

1 - Built-in IC Memory: Lightweight, easy-to-use digital audio recorders with high storage and editing capabilities.
2 - Files/Folders Recording Capacity: Recorded audio segments can be organized into files. As many as 99 files can be created in each of four voice folders, for a total of 396 files. A separate Music Folder can hold up to 999 music files.
3 - USB Mass Storage and USB 2.0 High-Speed Connection PC Link: After you record, you can transfer files to an compatible PC. The RR-US591 and RR-US571 and RR-US551 IC Recorders have built-in USB port and included USB cable.
These models are not compatible with TRC/ADPCM format IC recorders made by Panasonic. Also, files recorded on this unit cannot be played on those IC recorders and/or cannot be read using Voice Editing software supplied with those IC recorders.
4 - Zoom Microphone: The built-in zoom mic enables you to clearly record distant voices and is useful for recording lectures and interviews. The Recording Position Switch allows you to select Zoom to capture a specific speaker in a larger venue, a lecturer for example. Wide allows you to capture multiple speakers, at a conference for example. A Manual setting is also available.
5 - Security Function with Password: If you choose to set a password, password authentication is necessary when playing back this unit or connecting to a computer. When the unit is lost or stolen, the recorded data stored in this unit cannot be played or the computer does not recognize this unit as long as the password does not match.
This security function is only to limit a playback function for files by password, not by encryption. Panasonic does not guarantee any kind of loss in case your password gets discovered.
6 - MP3 Recording / Playback: These Panasonic Digital Voice Recorders feature MP3 recording and playback in stereo or mono. They can all play back MP3 music files transferred from your computer (mono playback only with the RR-US551).
7 - Long Battery Life: 45 Hours: Long Battery Life: 45 Hours with Alkaline Battery (Monaural SLP Mode Recording).
8 - Digital VAS Function: With a digital Voice Activation System (VAS), these units begin recording when their high-sensitivity, electret condenser microphones detect a voice, offering hands-free recording.
9 - Hold Switch: Helps prevent accidental operation, for example when the unit is in your pocket.
10 - 21-Step Playback Speed Control: Playback speed can be adjusted precisely during playback in 21 steps with the direct control button on the unit, making it easier to find the exact spot you are looking for.
11 - Noise Cut Function: Unwanted background noise is eliminated and the targeted human voice becomes clear and vivid.
