Sony M-100MC Key Features

Built-In Uni-Directional Mic
The M-100MC's Built-In Uni-Directional Microphone minimizes recording of peripheral sounds and is ideal for recording speaker at lectures and presentations.
Three Mic Sensitivity Modes (Lecture/Meeting/Dictation)
Lets you select best pickup sensitivity for recording a wide range of applications, from close-up personal dictation to large meetings.
Desktop Mic Stand
Allows the recorder to be set down on table or desk for hands-free operation.
Voice Operated Recording (VOR)
When you select the Voice Operated Recording mode, your Sony tape recorder automatically goes into Record-Pause mode. As soon as the microphone detects a noise to record, the VOR will release pause; the unit then begins recording. It continues recording as long as there is sound present. When the sound stops, the recorder will continue for a moment and then revert back to the Record-Pause mode. When the sound begins again, the recorder will release the pause and start recording again. VOR extends recording time by saving tape; allows for hands-free operation while recording.
Clear Voice Function
Enhances voice quality during recording and playback for greater clarity. Sony has boosted the milliWatt (mW) output of the amplifier. They've also upgraded the speaker itself to take advantage of the extra output. The speaker's frequency response is dedicated to the human vocal range. With Sony's Clear Voice Sound System, voices will have a rich clarity like you've never heard before!
Cue Marker Indexing
Cue Marker Indexing System lets you place an electronic "mark" at specific tape segments, and provides rapid access during Cue and Review. This lets you use a single tape for multiple purposes: interviews, meetings, classes, and so on. While recording, press the Cue Marker to make your reference point. The "Marker" is a tone that is audible only when using Cue or Review during playback.
Fast Playback
Plays tape at fast speed with sound (20% faster than normal), so you can hear specific passages for easy revision or transcription. Reduces the time needed to review recordings.
Up to 19 Hours Battery Life
Up to 19 hours battery life using just two AA batteries for recording convenience.
3-Digit Tape Counter
Provides a digital display of tape elapsed for rapid access to a particular section of the tape during playback.
Battery Indicator and Warning LED

Voice Mirror
Confirms recording by mirroring voice input with LED illumination. The LED flickers in response to the sounds being recorded and shows you that the sounds are loud enough to produce a quality recording.
Playback Speaker
Playback speaker is unobtrusive, and lets you and others hear playback without an earphone.
Automatic Shut-Off
Helps reduce mechanical wear and conserves battery power.
2-Speed Record/Playback
