Sony Microcassette and Cassette Transcribers Feature Explanations:

1 - Microcassette Transcriber: The M-2000, M-2020 and BM-850T2 uses easy to obtain, easy to store microcassettes for recording and playback convenience.
2 - Standard Cassette Transcriber: The BM-87DST Transcribing Machine uses standard cassettes for recording and playback convenience, and is compatible with Double Speed Recorders, enabling the user to transcribe cassette tapes recorded at either the standard 4.8 cm/sec speed or half speed 2.4 cm/sec. Its compatibility with both stereo and mono cassette recorders allows cassette tapes recorded in either the monaural format or stereo format to be transcribed.
3 - Dictation Record Functions: The M-2000 and M-2020 are the Sony "give and take" machines. These sleekly handsome units "take" dictation, record meetings, interviews even phone conversations, using convenient microcassettes in two speeds. Then they "gives" what's been recorded, playing it back for transcribing or just listening.
The BM-850T2 and BM-87DST can also be used as a desktop dictating machine with the addition of a microphone.
4 - Slide Switch Microphone: The M-2020's supplied hand microphone with slide switch control allows for easy one-finger operation to change the operating mode from Dictate to Stop to Listen to Backspace.
5 - Auto Backspace: Fully Adjustable Automatic Secretarial Reverse (BM-850T2, BM-87DST) -- Automatically replays the last part of the dictation whenever the user stops transcribing, to prevent lost dictation, and lets the operator adjust how much to rewind so tape resumes at the most desirable point prior to where it stopped.
3-Position Automatic Backspace (M-2000, M-2020) -- Lets transcriber reverse the tape 0, 1, or 3 seconds, automatically, to review recorded material for transcribing confirmation.
6 - Includes 2-Function or 3-Function Foot Control and Professional Style Transcribing Headset: 3-Function Foot Control (BM-850T2, BM-87DST) -- Lets the transcriptionist change the mode from Play to Rewind to Fast Forward without removing hands from the keyboard.

7 - 2-Speed Operation: The BM-87DST enables the user to transcribe cassette tapes recorded at either the standard 4.8 cm/second speed or half speed 2.4 cm/second. The M-2000, M-2020 and BM-850T2 permit the choice of 2.4cm/sec speed (30 minutes recording time per side of MC-60 Microcassette) or 1.2cm/sec (60 minutes per side).
8 - Erase on Rewind Option: Built-in Erase on Rewind may be optionally activated to automatically erase recordings while rewinding the cassette.
9 - Speed/Tone/Volume Controls: Variable Control (BM-850T2, BM-87DST) -- Speed, tone and volume controls are individual slider-type, front panel mounted, and allow easy one-finger adjustment for playback convenience.
Hi/Low tone and volume controls (M-2000, M-2020) permit the operator to adjust playback for clearest and most desirable sound quality of any voice.
